The Old Barn
Driving Directions from Aberystwyth
From Aberystwyth take the A487 south in the Cardigan direction. At Llanrhystud turn left at the post office and follow the road out of the village. About 200 metres after the speed limit signs turn left where you see the sign to Penrhos Park.
Drive past the entrance to the golf club on your right and follow the lane round a bend to the right. You now have two and a half miles to go.
Please note that the road is single track from now on. It is usually very quiet so you have a good chance of not meeting oncoming traffic and there are passing places. However, you must be able to drive your vehicle in reverse if the occasion demands it. If you don't like driving on single track roads please click below for an alternative route.
After a few hundred metres you will pass a house called Coedgleision on your left. You now go steeply uphill on a narrow wooded lane. Soon after you emerge from the wood you will pass the entrance to Bryngwyn on your left and a little later the entrance to a farm called Tynbeili on your right. After a few minutes you will reach a fork in the road. Directly in front of you is a house with a green corrugated tin roof and a tall metal stove pipe chimney. Turn right here and we are a quarter of a mile further down the road. Pass an entrance marked Tyddyn y Wern on your right, continue for 200 metres and we are the first house you come to on the right. Turn into the first gated entrance. There is a wide gravelled area with plenty of parking.
